Status of Biathlon on Sunday January 14th – Cancelled

January 14th Biathlon – Shootski Match CANCELLED

Due to the forecasted single digit temperatures and subzero wind chill (well below the Match’s threshold) we have decided to cancel this Sunday’s Biathlon-ShootSki.

———————————————–

The weather is not looking good for the Biathlon Shoot-Ski this weekend.  The warm weather and rain are going to melt the snow making the trails un-ski-able, but then the temperature is supposed to drop making everything icy and treacherous to hike.  Weather is uncertain so we’ll make the final call on Saturday and post it on the bulletin board of the web site.

Please check the web site and/or contact Randy or Dan to be sure the event is a go before coming out with your skis this weekend.

2018 DBCL WILD GAME DINNER AND FUNDRAISER

The 2018 DBCL Wild Game Dinner and Fundraiser will be held at the Hilton Garden Hotel and conference center on Saturday afternoon and evening, March 3rd, 2018.  We will have a selection of perfectly prepared appetizers, game, salads, starches, veggies and desserts. The price per person is $55 which reflects higher costs of food, trips and merchandise.  Fundraisers with half the merchandise sometimes charge $20 to $30 more.

The raffles will feature a variety of firearms, archery equipment, electronics, furniture, sporting goods, tools, jewelry and more.

The auctions should prove to be outstanding again.  There will be world class hunts and fishing trips with proven outfitters.  There will be vacation destinations to pristine beaches, wine country, skiing, sun and warmth and merchandise of all kinds!

Come and join over 300 of your fellow Booners and their guests and lets make this another night to remember.

We are posting the preliminary program with some of the auction and raffle items we have or expect.  Obviously, items will be added, modified or removed.  We will update the program every few weeks or as major changes occur.

Additional information available here.

Registration form for the event available here.

SEE YOU ON MARCH 3RD AT THE HILTON GARDEN.

Powderhorn Trap Article Correction

We inadvertently posted last year’s article  – below is the corrected one.:

The annual Trap and Skeet Banquet was held on Saturday, September 16.  We had a nice turnout, great food and lots of fun.  A special thanks to Blue Ribbon Catering for another delicious dinner, our compliments to the chef!  Congratulations to our Top Gun Overall – Steve Seibert,  High Skeet – Steve Bogdan, High Trap – Rick Williams  and High Hunt & Cover Team – Tom and Dave Pichler.

Fall League:  The eight (8) week fall sportys league is almost done and runs on Thursdays, until October 12th from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.  Shooters have 8 weeks to shoot 10 scores.  We have some interesting sporting games.  If you have not started the league, please consider coming out and shooting a practice round or two to try some different shooting games and try to hone your fall bird hunting skills.

As you know, I have decided to step down as Trap Chairman after serving for 10 years.  I couldn’t have done this without my committee members:  Steve Mealey, Steve Engle, Doug Repta, Jill Marton, Ken Walsh, Steve Bogdan, Steve Seibert and of course, our pullers and Brittnee Tomaszewski.  A big thank you to all!
